Towards the end of his tour of Pakistan, Shaykh Babikr participated in a discussion programme on Pakistan Television about the role of the ulema in building peace in Pakistan.

The discussion programme was guided by comments from a cross section of Pakistani society which were played at the start of the discussion. Shaykh Babikr related his findings following his interaction with Pakistani ulema. His message was that his Pakistani counterparts were ready and willing to work for peace despite the physical threats they were facing from extremists who had killed scholars who opposed suicide bombings and the killing of civilians.
