Why is anger and rage such a growing epidemic? Why are so many people so quick to violence? Why are Muslim youth growing increasingly agitated, organising into gangs and participating in random acts of rage? How do we tackle the anger and frustration in our counseling and pastoral work as Imams and frontline workers? What is the role of trauma in shaping certain proclivities to rage? Hakim Archuletta will address these questions and provide strategies for healing and recovery. As the very heart of Islam is an understanding that the world is deeply interconnected. Our spiritual health impacts the way we behave in the world. Affluence, poverty and environmental devastation affects our spiritual condition. If the Prophetic example calls on us to be agents of mercy and positive change for all, it must begin with the individual. Hakim Archuletta will explore how we pull ourselves together to achieve inner peace and be the change we want to be. Jointly brought to you by Faizan-e-Madinah Mosque, The Radical Middle Way and Alamiyah Institute

The Sacred Balance: Healing Ourselves and the Earth

Date: Wednesday 4 June
Time: 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Venue: Trinity House, Grove Close (off Platt Lane), Rusholme, Manchester, M14 5AA
Book your free ticket here.

There is wisdom and balance inherent in the natural order and its relation to our own bodies if we were to only realise it. How can we connect this understanding to the great task of healing the Earth? We have been placed uniquely in Allah's Creation and have the great trust of being able to mess up or care for the creation in all its aspects from our own selves to the trees, animals and all the beauty that Allah has given it. We're not talking about pollution but about desecration. If we are not fully present we don't really see it, we will not really feel what we should about it and even though we may say it's wrong, real feeling initiates action. Hakim Archuletta will inspire us to feel and act! Jointly brought to you by The Radical Middle Way, Manchester Community Circle, Olive Leaf Herbal Clinic and Alamiyah Institute
